Itinerary for the Trip to Metzabok

Departure: 8:00 AM - We leave the hotel in Palenque, already having breakfasted and ready for an exciting adventure.

Route to Metzabok

After a 2 ½ hour drive, we head towards Metzabok. During the trip, we will take the opportunity to enjoy the interesting landscapes that the Chiapas jungle offers us.

Cayuca Experience

Upon arrival, we will board a cayuco for a 2 ½ hour tour of the impressive lagoon. This exciting ride will allow us to:

• Observe ancient rock paintings at the foot of the mountain.
• Visit a sacred cave where Mayan rituals are still performed.

Hike to the Viewpoint

At a leisurely pace, we will take a hike through the jungle towards a spectacular viewpoint. From this point, we will enjoy an amazing view of the jungle and the lagoon, an ideal moment to capture photos and appreciate the natural beauty of the place.

Lunch at a Family Home

Upon returning to the village, we will have the privilege of sharing a delicious lunch at the home of a local family. Here, we will be able to taste the authentic flavors of Chiapanecan cuisine and learn a little more about their culture and traditions.

Return to Palenque

After a day full of adventures and cultural experiences, we will begin our return to Palenque, arriving approximately at 7:00 PM.
