Lacandon Jungle Rafting and Yaxchilan and Bonampak Ruins 2 Days

Itinerary

TOUR DESCRIPTION:

Day 1:

• Departure at 5:30 am from the hotel in Palenque; at 7:30 am we will make a stop for breakfast at a cozy local restaurant, where you can enjoy typical dishes.
• Afterwards, we will continue to Frontera Corozal, where we will board a boat and navigate the majestic Usumacinta River for 1 hour before arriving at Yaxchilan. There, we will enjoy a 2-hour visit to explore its impressive ruins and sublime stelae.
• Return to Frontera Corozal, where we will enjoy a delicious included lunch, featuring options that highlight local cuisine. Then, we will head to the archaeological site of Bonampak, where we will have a 1-hour visit to marvel at its amazing murals.
• To end the day, we will continue to Lacanja Chansayab (Lacandon village), where we will spend the night in comfortable cabins with private bathrooms and enjoy an included dinner, surrounded by the serenity of the jungle.

Day 2:

• Breakfast in the morning, accompanied by fresh coffee and local fruits. Afterwards, specialized rafting guides will be waiting for us to descend the Lacanja River for 2 hours, an adventure full of adrenaline and contact with nature.
• At the end of the descent, a Lacandon guide will be waiting for us to take us on a 2-hour hike through the jungle, where we can appreciate the unique flora and fauna of the region, as well as learn about the life and customs of the Lacandon community.
• Return to the village, where we will enjoy an included meal in a local community atmosphere. Afterwards, we will begin our return to the city of Palenque, arriving at the hotel at 8:00 pm.

• 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 1 dinner, entrance to the archaeological sites, river descent (rafting), Lacandon guide in Spanish, one night in cabins, and comfortable transportation throughout the tour.
